AGRIZEST FOR VINEYARDS

An innovative spray for optimal plant health, fruit quality and sustainable yield.

An Elicitor of the Phenylpropanoid Pathway

Agrizest is a liquid spray that strengthens the vine’s repair, growth and defence system. Agrizest elicits
(or triggers) the production of naturally produced bioactive compounds (phenylpropanoids) including those responsible for tissue repair, nutrient uptake, colour and flavour.

For healthy, sustainable wine grape production, high-quality fruit and reduced damage caused by pest, disease or environmental stress.

Developed, tested and proven in Kiwi orchards.

Used by leading growers for over 15 years.

Significantly increase your returns with Agrizest.

Key Benefits

  • Increased stress resilience and recovery

  • Improved vine health

  • Reduced damage

  • Increased crop quality

Safety/Approvals

  • ORGANIC

Agrizest is certified by BioGro for use in organic wine production.

  • Sustainable Winegrowing NZ

Agrizest is approved for use on Sustainable Winegrowing NZ-certified vineyards.

  • MPI

Agrizest is authorised by MPI (under the ACVM Act) as exempt from registration.

  • The leaves are shinier and bigger, and the grape yields and ripeness are improved. "We're talking about 3 to 4 per cent riper, which is significant because a 0.1 per cent increase in brix can be worth $5 a tonne"

Mike Lane, Clive River Vineyard, Hawke's Bay

Spray Programme

2 Sprays Pre Blossom:

•Rate: 2 sprays of Agrizest at 1L/ha.

•Timing: 1st spray 3 weeks before flowering. 2nd spray 3-7 days later.

2 Sprays Post-Blossom:

•Rate: 2 sprays of Agrizest at 1L/ha.

•Timing: 1st spray post flowering. 2nd spray 7 days later.

User Guidance

The Agrizest spray programme has been scientifically developed based on years of field trials.

Agrizest must be applied 4 times per season at key stages of physiological development - timing is key.

All 4 sprays are required to maximise improvements in both yield and quality.

•No wetting agent required.

•Water rates: dependent on sprayer and canopy - ensure product application rate is 1L per hectare. Typical rates: 1 litre of product to 500-1000L of water per hectare.

•Compatibility: Agrizest is compatible with most commonly used orchard sprays. Combinations should be tested prior to use. Always read the label.

•Agrizest can be sprayed on days when it is breezy or rain is expected - when other sprays, such as pesticides cannot be used. This is because Agrizest is effective on leaf contact, does not require full cover, and does not require drying time.

Primazest

For New Plantings and Early Season Growth:

For New Plantings

Use Primazest in newly planted vineyards to encourage strong growth and to help bring new varieties into production.

Primazest supports:

  • Healthy growth

  • Reduced damage

  • Recovery from stress caused by variable spring conditions such as high winds and frost.

Primazest encourages strong, healthy growth to set you up for a productive first crop.

Rate: Primazest at 5ml/L with a knapsack sprayer or at 1L/ha with an air blast sprayer
Timing: every 7 days or as spray programme permits (Primazest can be combined with most commonly used sprays, do not mix with copper or hormone sprays).

For Spring Growth

Use Primazest on early season growth to encourage recovery from stress caused by variable spring conditions such as high winds and frost.

When leaves are 2-4cm:
Rate: Primazest at 5ml/L with a knapsack sprayer
Timing: every 3-7 days.

When growth has reached the stage where a sprayer with directed nozzles is necessary:
Rate: Primazest at 5ml/L,
Timing: every 7-14 days.

When more than 200L of water is needed to cover 1 hectare):
Rate:  Primazest at 1L/ha with an air blast sprayer
Timing: every 14-21 days until your Agrizest programme begins.

Backed by Science

There is no other product “just like Agrizest”.  The technology was developed by us and has been tested and proven in multiple districts, seasons, and crops.

Agrizest is an entirely new technology (an elicitor of the phenylpropanoid pathway) that enables a big leap forward in productivity.

Phenylpropanoids are naturally produced by all plants & are responsible for plant and fruit quality characteristics e.g. lignin and suberin to harden cells and produce crunchier fruit, flavanoids for improved flavour, anthocyanins for high colour and coumestrol and other oils to repair damage.  Phenylpropanoids support the repair, growth and defence systems of plants.

The science of phenylpropanoids and the plant response to Agrizest is covered in our paper which has been published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal https://rdcu.be/cGRgc.
